“The rooms ( 3rd floor) dont have air conditioned, 35 deg heat was unbearable. The hotel eventually provided a weak desk fan. The windows at that level dont open fully so no draught either.. The room was clean, however the rainfall shower was not cleaned on the top, very dusty, ironically it should have been easy to get to as it was way way to low down and impossible to use. Elimis products very nice.”

“I was a bit worried about staying here having read some 'iffy' reviews, but I needn't of. For being a 3 star hotel I thought it was great. Location was perfect, breakfast was good, lovely choice of food. Our room was good and overlooked the cathedral. The bed was very hard so we asked for a mattress topper which they put on for us. It didn't make difference and we still had 3 nights of not sleeping through the night and waking up in pain!! Could also have done with a hairdryer on the room, but...

“Staff very friendly and helpful, super breakfast, we didn't park a car but looked ok, the room was clean but the air conditioning wasn't up to the standard I expected intact it didn't cool the room at all There was tea and coffee making facilities with biscuits however I thought a small mini drinks fridge would have been nice to keep water and pop cool”

During the period that access was unavailable to us, a neighbour told us that the Hamilton was used to house council-sent people, and we saw three such unfortunate people waiting to enter. “We really enjoyed staying at The Duke Williams. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, the included breakfast was delightful (really loved the blueberry pancakes!), and we loved how close it was to the Cathedral and castle.
